Slippers

Had another wonderful wet felting class and pot luck with Jonatha Foli the other day. Small group of women, great food, great fun, great results. (And a bonus foot massage too!)

Used a clothes dryer instead of rolling for this project, boy howdy did that make it a whole lot easier. Definitely can’t do this by myself without a shoe last though, it takes a lot of work directly on the foot. I’m now one step closer to making a pair of boots. Woo hoo!

Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping…

Busy week. Double boy baseball started and it rained so we’re still trying to figure out practice schedules and fields, lot’s of big homework assignments due, I’ve only got until the 16th to finish with the next book’s beta reading which can only read that on my laptop and that’s not very portable, and I’d like to paint a small painting by Saturday.

Should we go to the roller rink for a skate and donate for school?

I need more time!

Workshop fun

I took a glass blowing terrarium class last month.

Mikey making a terrarium

It didn’t turn out as I’d hoped it would…all six of my terrariums cracked from thermal shock, but it was fun never-the-less.

I did end up with a cool clear marble that I love.

Here’s hoping I have better luck in my wet felted wrist warmer class next week!

Happy holidays!

We had a terrific Christmas at our house. Family, friends, and great food.

One of my favorite gifts this year is the mini bowl for my blender.

When I was little my parents had that scary pressure cooker with the wobbly pressure valve that everyone thought would fly off and kill someone. The only thing that I remember being cooked in it was stuffed bell peppers (blech!!).

Now that I’m a big girl and have my very own not scary pressure cooker, I realize there is so much more that you can do with it.

Got this beauty from the in-laws many moons ago and let it sit in the cabinet for a year or so before I figured it all out. Now I can’t live without it–I’ve even replaced parts–it’s that precious to me. It’s not electric neither which is important to me too.

AND it’s never had a green bell pepper anywhere near it!

Can’t wait to eat some ribs.
